Dear Parents,
The current topic in our math number sense unit is multiplication. We are going to be reviewing our multiplication times tables starting next week. I expect that by Grade 5 and 6 the students know the multiplication times tables up to the 12 times table. I STRONGLY recommend purchasing multiplication flash cards and reviewing them with your child every night for the next few weeks. We will also be doing Multiplication Math Drills in the class to ensure that all the students are up to speed on the times tables. Multiplication Flash cards can be found at Dollarama or Walmart for about $2 or $3. Students can also use multiplication apps or games such as the games found on multiplication.com to practice their facts.
I also have a few sets of multiplication cards I can lend out to students.
